In the last 24 hours, the river rose by more than two metres above its normal mark. As per a Uttar Pradesh official, cremations, which used to occur at the Manikarnika ghat, have now been shifted to upper platforms due to the rising water. Also, a ban has been imposed on the famous Ganga aarti from the boats.The river is flowing only two metres below the danger mark at 69.91m. The Ratneshwar Mahadev temple and Sheetla temple have been inundated.<br />An NDRF team, having 20-25 personnel, have been deployed on the Dashvashmedh Ghat, Assi Ghat, and Rajghat.
