Kurnool blast: Rs.5lakh ex-gratia announced for kin of deceased

<p>Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 4 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the families of those killed in the blast which took place in Kurnool on Friday.</p><p>Furthermore, Naidu ordered an inquiry into the blast and asked the deputy chief minister and the mining minister to monitor operations at the spot.</p><p>He also asked the District Collector to assist the ones injured and affected with all the amenities.</p><p>At least 10 people died in a massive blast that took place on Friday night at a stone quarry in Kurnool's Hathi Belgal.</p><p>Five more people, who were labourers working at the site, got injured and were rushed to Aluru Government Hospital for treatment. However, one among them succumbed to injuries.</p><p>The fire that broke out in the quarry reportedly spread to the nearby area and burnt three tractors, one lorry and two sheds to ashes.</p><p>A case was subsequently registered under Section 304 part-2 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Sections 3 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act.</p><p>Kurnool Superintendent of Police (SP) said the matter is being investigated, and accused will soon be arrested.
