Shujaat Bukhari murder: Srinagar police arrest one of four suspects

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested one of the four suspects in connection with the killing of veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari and two of his PSOs. The suspect has been identified as Zubair Qadri. The police had sought the help of the locals in identifying Qadri, who was seen in the video stealing the pistol of the PSO who was shot dead along with Bukhari. "The pistol has since been recovered and he is being questioned about his presence at the scene of the crime. So far, he has not been able to give any convincing answers," Inspector General (IG) Kashmir Swayam Prakash Pani said. A video has emerged in which a bearded man wearing a skull cap was seen near the injured PSO of Bukhari as he was being taken out of the vehicle. As the gun of the PSO, who later died, fell on the ground, this man was seen running away after procuring the weapon.

*Srinagar Police seeks help of the general public to identify one more suspect involved in terror attack at press enclave, Srinagar* : Srinagar: 15 June 2018:https://t.co/2Y1Oo1Ioge @spvaid @JmuKmrPolice @KashmirPolice @DIGCKRSGR pic.twitter.com/5CwDikaydq
— Srinagar Police.
